The James Kura Memorial Scholarship
OACDL will award THREE $1,000.00 scholarships to Ohio High School seniors based on an essay to the question provided. Seniors must submit an application (download from link below), a copy of their high and a 2 page essay based on the question on the application. Transcripts may be requested.
Deadline for entry: Must be Postmarked by Friday, March 28, 2014.

The Florida “Stand Your Ground” law at issue in the criminal case against George Zimmerman states: “A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.” Florida Statute 776.013(3).
